No.. not that lot from Larndon..
Everton and Luck
Injuries
This is an endless list - barely able to put a recognised first team on the park. Someone must improve the training regime and look at the fitness levels of players bought more closely
Fixture List
Aside from the usual tough tranches of matches someone keeps giving us (last 7 home games last season, first ten or so the year before... And a run in against teams likely to be desperate for points (can we have a more balanced set of fixtures for once?)..
Opposition Form
One way or another we had an element of bad luck here..
I would say we only caught Chelsea (h) and to lesser extent Liverpool, Leicester, Burnley, Wolves (h), Southampton, Sheff U, Norwich (a) on a downer. On the other hand we met Chelsea, Spurs, Arsenal, Villa, Bournemouth (a), Saints, Sheff U, Man U, Villa, Norwich, Bournemouth (h) when they were nowhere near some of their bad runs when they were all struggling to even draw...
Shooting Ourselves in the Foot
But of course we have to make our own luck and... Here we can look at horror injuries to Gbamin, Gomes etc
And some more lousy VAR calls at Brighton, Spurs (h) and a dubious free kick against Villa.
So, yes we need a few players in, a less ridiculous keeper who dives the right way and doesn't make an ass of himself or dive over the ball...
And some heart
And some belief
And some guts
And an ability to look more threatening on the ball (start with a forward pass!)
And probably stop buying players willing to leave London and all that entails.
