Hi all
Another newbie here
I'm a middle aged ex-pat living near Newcastle upon Tyne but was born in Walton hospital and spent my early years in Aintree. Moved to the North East at 5 years old for my dad's work so yes, I do have a Geordie accent, but I apparently still fail the chicken test according to a wool who works for the same company.
First game at Goodison was actually Hungary v Brazil in the '66 world cup.
I've been going to the match since then, originally with my dad and now with my brother (born a Geordie but still a Blue) and a couple of cousins who still live on Merseyside.
I only get down 2 or 3 times a season these days (last game was the arse numbing 1-0 against Wham) but I was lucky enough to have been early twenties, single and loaded during the glory years of the mid-eighties and travelled extensively to away games and across Europe (was in Sittard and Rotterdam - happy days). It will come as no surprise then that my favourite Everton player is Kevin Sheedy although it took a long time for my childhood hero Alan Ball to be relegated to second. He is probably the best player ever to wear the royal blue in my opinion.
Current favourite is Seamus for his attitude and application, and no little skill.
I like pineapple on pizza but then I'm a huge Americaphile, having many holidays over there and currently saving to buy a 60's US muscle car
I might lurk for a bit to see what's what and who's who but I'm generally a talkative sort
