we've seen the ross kemp on gangs prog. and others like it, there was even 1 about liverpool gangs the other week with rs scallies armed to the teeth.. ok there are probably blues at it as well.
now as i was living in various locations and travelling around i did come across a few, when backpacking you are very often staying in the cheap end of town so it's usually a bit seedy and watch your back time.
my 1st day away i got hassled by a crack dealin' pimp in detroit, i WAS the white man in detroit that day and stuck out like a sore thumb, i charmed my way out of it with an embassy no.1, he was fascinated by the 'royal appointment' on the pack.
in hong kong i gave a guy in a van the fingers and he lifted a cleaver, i legged it through a posh hotel and was shitting bricks all day.
in holland,we used to go into a bar frequented by hells angels who used to hang their jackets inside then sit outside drinking, with cocky stoned english boys arriving all daft and giving them attitude, seen a few end up wet.
the ones that for me were fearsome though were in New Zealand,we used to get weed off the Black Power from their ganghouse 'the punga palace' so called because the fence was made of tree ferns 'punga'. there were a few gangs in Christchurch all with fortified gang houses, but for me the most fearsome of all of the gangs were "The Mongrel Mob", absolute psychopaths, they would attack you anywhere for just looking at them, which when you see full-facial tattoos for the 1st time you just cant help doing. they got their name from a high court judge who when sending some of them down for gang-raping and murdering a young girl, told them that they weren't a gang they were "nothin' but a pack of mongrels".
as time has progressed their crimes have got worse, and those wanting in will try to do something more despicable to 'earn their patch' (gang jacket). they regularly have scuffs with black power and in a packed cathedral square had an axe fight.

so there are dodgy feckers everywhere, that make the i.c.f. et al look like a gang of nancies. anyone had any experiences of them ?
