This is quite important.

As a Neville/Hitz replacement, this is a very good transfer.

As a Fellaini replacement, it'd be awful.

To be honest, he's a one paced defensive midfielder coming to the end of his career and unwanted by his current club.

Also a player who has been pilloried for his England appearances just as Neville was. A totally uninspiring signing.

Yeah.

We need Barry or his like even if noone goes, if Fellani goes we'll need a direct replacement for him (which looks like McCarthy) and one other to make that switch worth it (hopefully a goalscorer whether striker or winger).

If Baines goes, we'll need a left back and one other to make the switch worth it (hopefully a second goalscorer whether striker or winger).

No out and just Barry is a really good window for us.

Two out and just Barry is utterly appalling.

To be even more honest, that's just horse ****. He's the same age as Gerrard and FSW (no bad judge) swapped him nearly for Alonso. He could have a huge influence( he's on 125g a week for Christ sake)

No idea how it can be seen as a good window.

Yes, he's the guy who took that shower to 2 CL cup finals. Do you know anybody else who could do that?
But then you are saying that shower? He wasn't a bad manager, but to say he judged players well when he spent a quarter of a billion quid to do it tends to suggest otherwise.

Exactly, he was an excellent tactician who could consistently win games against superior teams.

But he had inferior teams because of his inability to spot a player. He spent more than pretty much every team in europe to assemble a team that finished 7th in his last season there.

If we're buying players based on his judgement then lets bring in dossena and voronin.
