Gerard Deulofeu - Once a Blue, always a Blue

Don't get me wrong I think it would be fantastic to sign him permanently. Building a side around Lukaku, Barkley and Deulofeu is an open door to great things.

All three are 19/20 years of age, the decision making comes with experience. All three in a few years time could be some of the best in the world in their positions.

Goal chances seems to happen easier when he is on the pitch. He just attract defenders attention to allow others to be free.

True. Against Palace, Liverpool and today we created the best chances when he came on. Stoke too but he played the whole game. lol.

I think this lads ego is the problem. He's highly regarded by the best club side in the world at the end of the day. But to be fair, If that was me or you, its likely we'd be the same on a football pitch at his age.

He needs to be appropriately grounded. That will come with Martinez's man management and the older players the club.

Ability wise you can tell he's from Barcelona.

He's the lad in the playground who never passes. All about going for glory. He'll get the balance right in a few years.

Ronaldo was the same. All about one person, himself. Once he was more consistent at being awesome, he started being less selfish while still being awesome.

If he was English that would get hammered out straight away.

I don't think it'll be a matter of years, once he gets a little bit more power on his shots (which will happen, cuz he's only 19 and still has some muscle to put on) or gets a bit better at placing, he'll be golden.

Exactly.

Barkley needs to find a better killer pass. Lukaku 's first touch can be shocking.

Both still important. Both nowhere near their potential.

On the point of barkeley and killer pass, although maybe not very pertinent, that really frustrated me today against man utd. He was pretty weak today in general it seemed to me, but especially his failure to deliver simple yet hugely important through passes was hugely frustrating.

The great thing about Barkley and Deulofeu is that they'll pick the ball up and run with it. Nobody did that under Moyes.

Ross seems to want to score long range efforts but if he got himself closer to the box he'd probably win more penalties and freekicks and the ball would fall to him more often to knock home.

The obvious thing with Deulofeu is that he rarely squares the ball or pulls it back when he's at a tight angle. I'm not sure whether it's greed, lack of awareness or whether he's been coached to shoot because if it doesn't go in the 'keeper will probably be on the floor and the ball ricochet loose. Tonight he had a couple of options though where either of them would have had a virtual open goal.

When he eventually returns to Barca, perhaps a friendly match at Goodison against Barca the following season as a send off and thank you to him?
