Gerard Deulofeu - Once a Blue, always a Blue

Think he scored 16 times for barcelona's B team last season, but needs to learn that in the PL you can't do everything yourself. Needs to learn when a pass is better before he gets to the byline.

Still hugely talented. Not Messi-good, maybe more like Pedro-good.

He is fantastic, I love him. He ghosts past players like a piece of piss, watch his chance last night, and watch Evra give up straight away. He is friggin boss

He took about 28 players on right before we scored as well, hes absolutely amazing.

Not arsed if we lose now vs Arsenal to be honest, I'd be happy with 3 points against them two away from home in the same week

He's ridiculous as a late sub. Pure speed and tricks against tiring players. When were under the cosh a bit having him as an outlet must terrify the opposition.

It's almost unfair. If he learns how to finish a move, he'll be unstoppable, and so will we.

Its the way he seems to glide with the ball like the opponents not even there.

The only player who seems able to take the ball off him is the keeper. Because they can use hands.

Think hes brilliant

Benefited immensely from a terrific & dynamic #9 in Luis Alberto (Now at Liverpool) setting him up quite a bit too...Deulofeu is a goalscorer so given time, he will bang them in, no doubt about it...Improvement in decision making as others have correctly pointed out comes through experience

Personally, I didn't care much for his energy level after his initial burst into the box...seemed to not match the effort of his teammates, especially on the defensive end...Perhaps I'm reaching but didn't get the impression he appreciated the magnitude of the encounter...Then again, perhaps Roberto gave him explicit instructions to pace himself for those bursts on the counters

The great thing about Barkley and Deulofeu is that they'll pick the ball up and run with it. Nobody did that under Moyes.

Ross seems to want to score long range efforts but if he got himself closer to the box he'd probably win more penalties and freekicks and the ball would fall to him more often to knock home.

The obvious thing with Deulofeu is that he rarely squares the ball or pulls it back when he's at a tight angle. I'm not sure whether it's greed, lack of awareness or whether he's been coached to shoot because if it doesn't go in the 'keeper will probably be on the floor and the ball ricochet loose. Tonight he had a couple of options though where either of them would have had a virtual open goal.

Yep and that's the thing, they're both young and will make mistakes but you'll be hard pressed to find an alternative to do better or get you into those positions where they will eventually learn to make the right choices...Winning breeds confidence and the more you play, the easier it comes

Still, from a Barcelona perspective, I like an aggressive winger who goes for goal rather than someone who is merely seeking out someone to square the ball to - the ideal, of course, is someone who knows when to do either...again, a consequence of experience
