Gerard Deulofeu - Once a Blue, always a Blue

Daily Mail have changed the wording of the article so it's less convincing.

To late as nearly 100 of you have a spunked already.

I saw you spunking in your own understated way before

Thing is with the lid is that he's just dead exciting to watch. He's the type of player you want in royal blue. You need a couple of them to take arses off seats.

If we do sign him then it's smart move by Martinez early on. We were absolute dump out wide last season.

Suppose we will see.

For you, that was excitement.

This isnt that unfathomable the more i think about it.

Hes useless to Barcelona, where is he going to fit in they are not going to dump any of Suarez, Messi or Neymar. Pedro. Tello, Vidal are there. They even sold Sanchez last season.

He seems like a player who needs an arm around the shoulder and one step forward, one step back approach and patience - that not going to happen at Barca, they dont seem the capacity to offer him that oppurtunity and he needs somewhere that will give him oppurtunites with paitence and the foundation to play his natural game rather then being a support player for the afore mentioned.

We do after a year being touted in Spanish media of being a flop and kicking his heels he needs nurtrring, respect and patience. Exactly what he got the first time around - so we are the logical choice for the lad and he will prob make decent wedge as well.

As for the fee, i dont think its as good as people are making out - i dont think he walks straight into our first team in fact i wouldnt be surprised if his first year with us if he comes in similar to his first apperance wise. 5 mill is a lot for us for a player who needs a lot of work and doesnt go straight into the team - its a fair chunck of our budget. So a word of caution overall.

All in all its about right.

Lennon is essential though to cover the spread.

Yeah. They've loaned him out twice and messed him around a fair bit so they owe him one, especially as an academy player. If he's said 'look, Everton is where I want to go, don't sell me to anyone else' then Barca would probably accept a low offer.

I agree some line dancing would sort his ego right out.

Realisticaly though where else could he go - hes not going to get games at CL club: City, Chelsea, Utd, Arsenal, Bayern, Juve, Athletico etc.

We're as good as anyone in the tier beneath, why wouldnt he come here. He needs the foundation to play, but be a focal point of an attack and play to his game, so he can develop his strengths.

He needs to be the Messi somewhere else.

Honestly mate have a wee read again.
I don't think we're anywhere near close confirming a deal myself mate, but if it's true then cool, if not then it's still only early.

I'm really quite relaxed about it, main deal for me will be the playmaker, Gerard is just a nice addition for me.

It's started again.

Spot on, he's an exciting player but right now he's far away from being the finished article.

He reminds me a bit of that Giovani dos Santos, he was a box of tricks as well but it just didn't work out for him in the early part of his career.
