My hope is he goes for a front 3, Barca play like a much better version of the RS when they got 2nd, having top quality forwards that hit on the break with pace from through balls from the midfield 3 (coutinho and slippy)

I believe this is the way forward and we have the players to do it providing he brings in that top quality playmaker:

Coleman Jagielka Stones Baines

Mccarthy *playmaker* Barkley

Deloufeu? Lukaku Mirallas

Have mccarthy as the DM with a playmaker and Barkley the two players in the middle to create chances for the front 3/ make surging runs on the break.

I would be gutted if he keeps to the 4-2-3-1 next season playing the same slow tippy tappy build up with an ageing Barry turning like the titanic week in week out

I agree with the formation but if Mirallas gets sold then put either podolski or Lennon in there if any are signed.

If you put Cleverley in there instead of Barkley you might be on to something that seems somewhat plausible for certain games.

Probably mate, I worry that Martinez ends up keeping Ross on the bench which would be a massive waste, I'm of the opinion if he isn't gonna play the kid the majority of games sell him to city for £35 mil+ and bring in 3/4 top quality signings. No point letting the kids stock fall sat on the bench whilst Cleverly or Barry are running around the pitch passing sideways

I think he'll keep the back four the same no matter what
having Besic/McCarthy and Cleverley in a tight midfield should out energy even the best teams, I think we're going to see a lot of high pressing this season, with McCarthy and Cleverley pushing into the box for numbers/Support.
