Will he start in the Derby? I think he has to. We have the options now in Lennon and Kone to make impact subs off the bench. We don't need to keep Del in reserve. Imagine Mirallas on the other side with Gibson and Barkley sitting deep providing early balls out to them and Lukaku and Kone just waiting upfront for all the great service. We have the players to play offensive football now. For once I hope we go brave in the Derby and just blow them away.
 
Although loving his form right now part of me doesn't want him to be too good. That buy back clause Barca have had me slightly worried
 
His best pass was the one to Barkley in the first half. How he even saw it never mind execute it so perfectly is a mystery. Another mystery is why he hasn't been playing; still, better late than never.
 
He played well last night, if only he'd played someone in when we had 5 against 1, the last few minutes would have been more comfortable. His tracking back and general team play has improved so much.

Brilliant performance. I think we've got a player on our hands. He's really changed his playing style actually, added another string to his bow with those whipped early crosses.
Whereas before he could be one dimensional, and would dribble at you before trying to get to the byline and whip one in, now he's more unpredictable and a better player for it. If a defender tries to get tight to stop the early cross, he'll get burned for pace down the byline. If the defender sits off a bit and allows Del run at him, Del can whip in the early ball.

Fantastic delivery today from out wide, give Rom that kind of service and he'll knock in plenty this season, particularly once he builds a bit of a partnership and reads and gambles on some of the other balls put in by Del. 4mil is an utter snip for this kid, regardless of whether Barca can buy him back or not.
 
We need at least one natural winger in the game at all times, and you see why. This guy is so quick and look at how he has grown his game since his time here on loan.
 
He's the most natural wide player we have. Loved it especially in the second half, he'd hug the touch line so when a ball came to his feet, his first touch took him inside so he was already running at the full back who hadnt even closed him down yet. So positive.

Agree with all that. Lennon looks scary rapid coming off the bench, that's a fine option if we want to add pressure. I want Deulofeu on the pitch for 90 minutes doing all kinds of dirty business to which ever bell end they have playing at left back.

Remember the derby when Mirallas absolutely tormented Andre Wisdom before Suarez put him out the game. One of the most one sided encounters ever. A week after the game the kopite revisionists were out saying Wisdom was motm and had Mirallas in his pocket. I hope Deulofeu scars them permanently and shows Moreno up for the sham of a defender he is.

the whistle blew about 10 seconds after that breakaway. wen had the ball for 9.5 seconds of it.

he hasn't had a mass of football since joining seville and did get injured in pre-season tbf. we were playing a formation which didn't really require wingers so gave him more chance to recover. bang in form now, HAS to start sunday.
