Gerard Deulofeu

I HIGHLY doubt Barca will buy him back with that first team clause in the contract. Milan might have some interest, but there is no way he would stay in Barca's first team.

It's just odd that anything talented now we're losing for whatever reason or struggling to keep hold - Stones, Rom, Ross, Del and they're all heading off to big sides.

Were as we'll be stuck with Bolasie, Lennon, Williams etc

Not really, see Spurs and the RS the past decade. We've actually been pretty lucky over the years in this dept and were fortunate to have Arteta, Cahill, Baines and jags play the prime years of their careers for us.

To be fair mate I'm not sure how you can list Del with the other 3 names, he isnt even close to being in the same league as Stones, Ross and Rom.

But he's still has more ability than the majority of what we've got on the books. We're not talking like Del is Calum McMananman/James Mclean/Aaron Lennon-esque winger here either.

But that's the case for all clubs, with the exception of Real Madrid and, probably, Barcelona, and even they could lose players to Real until relatively recently. Hazard, De Gea, Alli, Kane, Sanchez, they've all and more been linked to moves, just as the likes of Keane have been linked to us. We need to get higher up the food chain, that's all, and we're doing so. Besides, Barkley hasn't gone anywhere yet, and may very well not do, and I wouldn't be surprised if there's a twist or two left in the Lukaku soap opera. As far as Deulofeu is concerned, Koeman would almost certainly find space for him if he performed consistently enough. That certainly seems to have been the message to all the players, Barkley and Mirallas especially. I'm just glad we've the manager and the money now to enable us to send strong messages to players.

This is true. But my point is that if we're building, these players who we deem "not good for us" all seem to be wanted to clubs with higher profiles.

Firstly Lukaku and Barkley havent gone yet. Obviously it seems Lukaku will be off though.

Secondly, we loaned Deulofeu to Milan. We chose to let him go, he wasn't taken from us. Milan are also a shadow of their former selves. Quite possible they won't be in Europe again next season.

Well, Ross isn't breaking his neck to sign a new deal (seems to be tapped up).

As for Milan not being their former selves...they're still a name and they still have quality (Bacca, Donnarumma, Montolivo). It's not like they're now a basement club.

Stones hasn't exactly kicked on though has he mate, Ross hasn't left yet, Rom of course will be a massive loss when he goes. Del though, literally the only place he seems to have shown any sort of long term form is AC.

Top goal scorer usually is at the team that wins the league or top 3 at least not a team finishing 7-5th. It would be great to keep Rom but he probably is above where we are at the minute. Liecster proved last year you don't need a ball playing centre half to succeed. Let's be honest defensively stones is good on his day, no more then that. What sets him apart is his ability in the ball, he isn't exactly Maldini in his actual defending. How many goals over the past 2/3 years has he cost the team he's played for just through individual errors. Of course he will improve or at least he should and il be honest I haven't watched much of city the past few months but he seemed to be going backwards from that season we finished 5th.

Stone's is stuck in a side where he's the only good centre half. The other is Kompany who's injured. Their entire back four (he had Koloraov as a partner at one point) is very poor.

The point is that a club above us or a name wanted to pay big money for him to fight for titles. Yet we're picking up Williams' etc or even spending a rumoured £30million for Keane. It's kinda going round in circles.

This is an untrue statement. Stones is just overrated and can't defend. Everton got a really good profit from selling him. Deulofeu can't cut it in PL and Koeman chooses to let him leave. Barkley and Lukaku are still here although Rom will be a big miss if he goes.

Lennon obviously was not a Koeman signing and will be sold soon. Williams is a ready made, solid centre-defender (a defender who can actually defend) who would help out our defence and the results have proved Koeman and Walsh were right. Bolasie is a different type of player than Mirallas and Lookman. He was doing ok before he got the injury.

Of course we got a good profit. We'll get a good profit from these players because they're good players who clubs want to spend on, which is the point.

You won't see another club spending £30million on Bolasie or £15million on Williams from us.

Begs the question "why buy him back?".

Del's form has been decent since he's been at Milan but nowhere near Barca first team standard. And how much profit could they turn by selling him on after 12 months anyway, bearing in mind they have to pay him a years salary. Plus they need to entice him with a decent contract/package to get him to sign in the first place. Pretty certain the player would have to agree to any transfer and it sounds as though he has his heart set on going to Milan by all accounts.

I'm also pretty certain that the buy back clause has to be enforced within a certain period of the window, probably by the end of July I would imagine. So I wouldn't be surprised if that deadline passes without Barca exercising their option leaving us free to negotiate with Milan.

Wouldn't be too disappointed if he stayed to be honest as I think he would be good for our cup campaigns. Plus the most we'd get for him would be around £15m and I really don't think we could get a replacement as good as him for the same money.

They're only doing it to broker a deal to Milan really.

And I don't think we'll get a replacement as good as him for £15million especially if Wilfried Zaha is upwards of £30million.

For the most part you're talking one player leaving every now and then. If you look, especially Spurs now, they can afford to lose that 1 player and bring in quality.

It's just going round in circles for me while the transfer fees are going up.

Bolasie was £25m Williams £12m. You miss the point on Williams. We need a proven CB who had no problem to replace Stones straightaway. He is a short term stop gap and is a solid defender.

I won't question Koeman and Walsh now because they are doing a good job for this club.

Spurs have hit the ultimate sweet spot. A bunch of really good players that they can afford to keep but may not be good enough to be a full time starter on any team in the world (maybe ali can, dunno). Also Levy is smart enough that he would never sell to a rival prem club unless that money is ultra-crazy-stupid (say 150+M for Ali).

But they cant sell him to Milan for 12 months and will have to pay his wages for that period so how much profit can they make. Will Milan be prepared to wait a year and will the player agree to it also? Cant see it myself.
