Giving Youth a Chance

Player Valuation: £100k
With the Team preforming so badly and inconsistanly, and Frank Lampards constant response of the Players need to take personal responsibility. Should we consider giving some of the yongster a chance.

Why would they players take personal responsibility a chance if they already know they will start the next game.

On Tuesday night or average team age was 26 (v brightons 23)
our sub average age 29 v brightons subs average 23

This is years of Mismanagement and as a result we have an ageing squad with little to No resale value with 53.5m worth (we paid for) of players now able leave for nothing.

Brands came in wanting to change our operating style to something similar to what Brighton are doing.

This season we brought in Vinagre on loan and let Nkounkou go on loan (£1m in wage + loan fee) v £230000 so another £1 plus wasted and a route to the first team blocked.

It's an interesting point mate but not sure it's the best environment at the minute.

Which players are you thinking?
Why sign Lonergan when Billy Crellin is in the reserves?
Why sign Vinagre when Nkounkou is there?
Why recall Simms when Cannon is there?

This has been an on going issue, The Profile of our signings since Moshiri has been all wrong and it is now showing the flaws.

Ageing squad with no route for young players to progress.

They have 'pathways' which often dictates loan spells for development.

I get what you're saying - like I'd find it odd we'd play Delph and Iwobi left back and not even have that young lad whose name escapes me who went to Southampton on the bench.

Vinagre/Nkounkou and Simms/Cannon are strange examples when the age gap between them is small, and Crellin is properly bad. I'd like to see us move towards a different model where the age of the squad is generally lower, but i'm not sure right now is the time to be doing it.

Beginning to think that we should've explored bringing Dobbin back in as well. Give him a go in the right-forward spot as no one else is exactly performing close to what we need there..

Is this thread title a dog whistle for something more sinister?
It is aimed at the issues with the club being larger than the first team. it is from top to bottom.

Currently there is no Pathway to the first team fron Academy or the Academy aren't producing good enough player.

Is our Scouting Network not identifying the right players or are we looking in the wrong places for them?

The point i'm making is why sign ( or Recall) someone when you are then blocking someone of the similar age / ability / Level who is already there

Well firstly I'm not sure they are considered to be of similar ability. Secondly I wouldn't really class one youth graduate being picked ahead of another as 'blocking'. And thirdly, that's just football isn't it? Some players make the grade, some don't - it's a cut throat business.
