Thats simply not true.
We need 19 players every week for a match and surely the idiot has realised a small squad is a terrible idea.
Numbers-wise we are currently fine, could afford to lose possibly 2 to leave "room" for some youth, but any less than 23/24 players would be beyond stupid and I doubt we would do it.

In one of his boring interviews he mentioned having the unwanted players training separately and he prefers to go with less players for some reason....

Brands wants a squad of 23/24 plus youth with a breakdown of GK 3 DF 8 MF 6/7 FW 7. I agree with this. If we go with 18/19 man squad as soon as injuries and suspensions bite we will be in a lot of trouble.

Were you not tempted to add Broadhead btw? He did make a senior appearance last season (although a very short one)

Ive just quick mathed it and it cost roughly 450m to build this squad.

The squad in theory is well balanced its just the lack of quality that worries me. If we have to sell to buy I can't really see it getting much better. We need to spend at least £100 million net. Minimum players needed RB, RF, CM also back up GK and ST. Players that definitely need the boot to make way for the new signings are Kenny, Iwobi and Delph. Also Tosun but we will probably have to wait until January. Players that ideally would go but need a to be replaced like for like are Holgate, Keane, Sigurdsson, Bernard and Gomes. Coleman and James I would keep for one last season. Kean I would keep if he has any sort of interest if not sell and replace. Nkounkou if he's deemed an adequate back up keep if not loan out and bring someone in that is. Branthwaite loan out as CBs tend to learn by playing. There is still so much work to be done but at least we haven't got too many players any more (just the wrong ones).
