Hey Evertonians,
Long-time lurker – and will probably continue to lurk – but before this nutty season ends I thought I would at least say hey and let you all know that you’ve got another lifelong supporter in Canada. As well, I wanted to give a shout-out to GOT – a great web site and entertaining forum that is my number one source for all things Everton, football, and British culture in general. Well done.
Myself, I’m a 37 year-old Canadian. My old man is from Bootle, moved to Canada and raised a blue. I’ve always followed Everton but the launch of Setanta over here a couple of years ago made it so much easier to connect to the team (and it’s nice to see that of the 8 games they’re showing on Sunday, Everton/Fulham will be the last at 11:30pm. Thanks).
Made my only trip to Goodison in September 2007 (we lost 0-1 to Man U) but it was an amazing experience and all the fans I met were fantastic (Scouse hospitality is second to none). And I continue to wear my “Chang” jersey with pride in a city plagued by “Carlsberg” and “AIG” douchebags. Was hoping to make it to a lot more games in the near future but a long-planned move to England later this year may have to be delayed due to “global economic conditions”.
That’s it. Just lettin’ ya’ know we’re out there.
