Morning all.
Getting slated for having been inactive for 83 days so thought it about time I actually post something.
Found GOT on facebook initially as a means of getting humourous match updates on my iWoan from an objective source <cough> and then tracked you guys back to here basically.
Didn't become an Evertonian as such, more a case of my dad teaching me my first word, or rather words - Tony Cottee - at the age of 3 (good things come to those who wait eh old fella). All started from there really with my first blues game in 1992 home to Wimbledon. Nil nil draw and I fell asleep. Was boss.
All time favourite player for me is an eternal scrap between the Binman and Big Dunc. Always played in goal as a kid, I couldn't run very far (asthma's a tw@t) but I had gnarly jumping skills and wasn't arsed about grazed knees in the playground, even though my mum was threaders at least once a fortnight about me going through my new school kecks. When I met Nev he was a humble guy which to a shy lad like me made him even more of a god amongst men. As for why Duncan , I met him a couple of times but when I was a bit older and knew what beer was/did. Him uberlashed in the players lounge and giving me a nuggy in front of my terrified ma, enough said. Also loved that he didn't take crap off anyone. Kanchelskis was a lad too, loved watching him play.
Currently love Tony Hibbert. Less for his footballing prowess, more because he's the opposite of your modern footy player stereotype, fishing at the weekend on his tod instead of getting boozed-up birds from Toxteth up the duff (you know who you are). His name's also an excellent default answer to any question in every kind of quiz. What's the capital of the Faroe Islands? Tony Hibbert What was the name of the victorious admiral at the Battle of Cape Matapan? Tony Hibbert... and so on. New lad Mirallas is an entertaining player too, bit lightweight though (get on the weights lad). And Bainsey, kicking a ball about with his little lad in Sefton Park after training, and being generally amazing at footy, top fella - embodies what I love about our club.
Pineapple on pizza? It's the tits, but only when applied intelligently. Try it on a margherita with Tandoori chicken (not the dominos sh!te, the real stuff), mixed spices and a dollop of minted yoghurt sauce. FIT
And there we have it. Thank you, and good night Vienna.
