Goodison Park Tunes Next Season

Blues, I have a task for you!

I happen to work on EFC big screens as part of my job and I've been researching some new tunes to play in Goodison on matchdays, trying to avoid the classic clichés and cheese as much as poss but sometimes they just work so bloody well.

I've got quite a bit of a list going but if anyone has any suggestions that they'd like to send my way then that would be ace. ;)

@roydo :bye:

What is the logic behind playing music at sporting events?

You can call me a miserable old bugger, but I go to the match to watch a game of football, not listen to some canned music blaring out. I believe it reduces atmosphere not increases it as it makes fans passive.

Genuinely interested as to what "the industry" believes it brings to the game,

I think it's a mixture of atmosphere building and our work on the big screen (highlights, ad breaks etc) wouldn't be as effective without a tune playing that either makes people smile (grand old team ;) or Eiffel 65) or brings back a memory of a past player, present player or past game. The main aim is to stir an emotion and if it ain't working, that's why I need fresh opinions! ;)
