I think hes clearly a good manager. But at Brighton the whole club is run brilliantly from top to bottom. Whether Chelsea will suit Potter is yet to be seen. Can be a very difficult environment for a manager and he won't have the kind of time he had at Brighton.

I think he should do well, but Chelsea are a club where at the very minimum this season he will need a cup or a top 4 finish.

Brighton on the other hand will just take the compensation and get a new young similar up and coming model to Graham Potter to take over. It shouldn't affect them greatly

Feel sorry for Brighton. This is the food chain of football I guess. Only the top sides can be top thanks to sky branding. Where would Clough have ended up under sky brand influence I wonder.
Thats true but its no differentt to us stepping in on Silva., it was only a matter of time.

I wonder if Brighton also loose the scouts they have? and backroom staff

Interesting how he would use Chelsea’s stable.

Tuchel neglected a lot of player potential.
Every manager that has been there since the buying binge began ended up doing that sooner or later. It's the problem with too much of an embarrassment of riches coupled with the expectation of lifting a major trophy every time out. Some seasons, you need to reload so you don't end up rebuilding later.

I like Potter but I just don't get this move for Chelsea. I hope he does alright though.
I suppose they're thinking that if they get it together at the back, sooner or later the attack will take care of itself. One thing that can be said for Potter is that he got the club playing progessively better defense every season without needing big-money 'ins' to do it.

I agree with the consensus that it's a poor fit. Potter has never managed egos like this, or been in this kind of fishbowl, and those are very difficult skills to learn on-the-job.

If they let him do his thing then I think he will surprise a fair few people. However it's Chelsea and they are not known for patience and their fans and board throw toys out the pram at the slightest thing. Todd Boehly gave Dave Roberts time to sort the LA Dodgers out because he believed in him and it's going to be about how much does he believe in what Potter is doing. Give him time and he will sort Chelsea out imo.

Going to watch this one close, a lot of people had wanted hm at Everton, its a massive step up for him, be interesting to see how it works out

Maybe I'm weird, but I wish Abramovic would have hired Potter, they look similar enough. I think Potter is a good manager, but not convinced about the Yank steering that ship. I have no idea if this will work out.
