Greatest British post war manager BBC poll

Generally gets a bit forgotten about in part to the change in the game being round the corner premier league wise and the european ban preventing the best team in europe from competing. Also, and we don't like saying it but look at quality of the side he caught up to and overhauled, playing fast good football and being responsible for the birth and re-birth of careers. Kendall did all this and achieved greatness and managed to do so without you ever hearing a bad word said about the fella, his warmth and personality shining through clearly in that. To get to the very top and still be pretty much universally loved or liked in your field is pretty rare and says everything about the man he was.

I personally missed out on his playing career and also the 80's glory days but will never forget the weekend he passed away and the gravitas of knowing the greatest living Evertonian was gone. An absolute Titan of our history

Voted for Kendall. Too depressing to imagine what he would would have won were it not for Hysel. Very possibly the 1986 and 1987 European Cups.

Clough's achievements at both Derby and Forrest were impressive too and grudgingly Shankly.

Hope everyone on this forum goes and votes for Catterick or Kendall.

Regardless of who you like or don't like, the top three must be: Matt Busby, Bill Shankley, Alex Ferguson. (With a shout for Bill Nicholson)
