Player Valuation: Free Transfer
(yeah, yeah, I might know some stuff about Straq's transfer)

Hi there! My name is Pablo and I'm from Argentina. I'm not one of those "fan of teams in other countries", but I'm a big admirer of Fellaini so I kind of follow Everton. I'm a River Plate fan in my country. Recently I started to get more interested in Everton since you signed Denis (not that I'm quite identified with Everton playing style or Straq's, but I admire him and wish him well because of his background).
I made this post since I have that threat on the top:

moses, You have been a member of GrandOldTeam for 17 day(s) now but have yet to post. Please be aware that we occasionally prune our membership by deleting inactive members - these being members who have never made a single post. To avoid this, why not say hello in our 'New Signings' forum? Click on this message bar if you wish to make an introduction thread...

and since I like to read the forum and since I see everyone is wondering what it would take to get Denis, I decided to kill 2 birds with one shot and integrate myself and maybe (yes, "maybe") provide a little (yes, "a little") clarification on Denis status:

The situation surrounding Denis is very intriguing (no wonder why you don't know so much, here in Argentina we don't know much either). He was on Tigre, and one of the people very close to Tigre's board happens to be Sergio Massa, who used to be the Chief of Ministerial Cabinet (SP?) of the current government (a corrupt government, as always, but very close to football, with influence in several clubs) and now is the Mayor of the city of Tigre. Also, his agent is Jorge Cyterszpiller, who used to be Diego Maradona's agent in Diego's first years, and he had some troubles in the past concerning some transfers wich at least one even led to Cyterszpiller getting arrested.
For the information that I was gathering, Denis was on loan at Tigre with a 1.25 million dollar option over 50% of his economic rights, wich Tigre have used. In practice, this mean that Tigre doesn't have a call over Denis Future, but recieves 50% of his next transfer. Nobody can confirm who has the other 50% and federative rights (the rights to decide where the player gets to play). The general assumption and the information that is given "as true", is that these percentages and rights belong to Cyterszpiller himself.
What I do not know is if Everton have any buying option in the loan contract and, if it does, how much is that.
I don't know if everything is clean, considering the people involved in the case, but in any way, I think that Everton will have to negotiate with Cyterszpiller. And I'm sure that negotiatons won't be easy, specially since I expect Tigre wanting to gain something out of their 50% (wich would have to be more than 1.25 million dollars), not because Tigre must have something to say in the negotiation, but because of the person behind Tigre's board. And, of course, because his agent has more than 30 years of field experience and a lot of contacts that, depending on how Denis does, he can sell him to the best bidder.
Finally, to have more backround: He was on Gimansia in the same situation that he was on Tigre (loan with 50% option) wich Gimnasia didn't use (because they couldn't and didn't want to), so then he was loaned to Tigre. So Gimnasia doesn't have anything to do here (just in case).

not much info, but I don't think you might get better info on this issue for the time being. Maybe when it's time to make a decision, some things must be clearified.

See you around!

Well...first off hello mate!

You failed to describe your view on how delicious pineapple on pizza really is...please elaborate.

I have to say that you have the best knowledge of Argentina...most of these blokes would stuggle with which continent it's on.

So...think Straq for less than 3mil?

hahaha! I hate pineapple on pizza, o ham in melon or similars.
But, seriously, maybe I didn't explain well. I was trying to explain that with the people involved, you never know what's the truth. Maybe Tigre paid 2 pennies for Straq and then passed it as 1.25 mill and stole the rest. Maybe Cyterszpiller is not the real owner of Denis but a front man/figurehead for other people (I don't know how this might sound to you, but many Argentinians would see this and think "maybe? you bet!!"). Maybe no matter what, the idea is to not keep him in Everton.
At this level, 3 mill might settle, maybe less (he was bought from a 4th division team for pennies), unless he draws competition from other clubs. If it were a normal club to club transfer, considering that Gimnasia is on the 2nd division and Tigre (unless they make a run for the championship) might follow the same fate, any money would be better than having a high contract in a player devaluating his market value on the 2nd division.

Welcome buddy.

Ffs should have known the Straqa mans too good to be true it all sounds a bit messy. Might explain why no one else came in for him though.

Oh and ham in melons? Sounds even worse than pineapple on pizza

So shady Cyterszpiller, possibly acting as a front for a mysterious organization, owns part of the Straq?

I hope our club is equipped to negotiate with Bond villains.

Hi fella - I love Argentinian football. I lived for a year in Buenos Aries. I remember drinking in a downtown bar watching Martin Palermo miss 3 penalties in a single game.

I am also a big fan of your sultry women.

Enjoy!

Welcome Moses. Interesting stuff about Denis. Our board are well known for their skill in dealing with transfer negogiations so I don't think we'll have a problem with this one

Hiya Moses lid.

Welcome to GOT, and nice post regarding thE Stracq situation - sounds well dodgy. I'm a massive fan of your country, and enjoyed many trips there. I have fond memories of Buenos Aires, and more recently Mendoza, (Where the chicks are wild).
