The sanctuary for odd knowledge. For over a year I've been posting this feature in another thread but I think it's finally time for it to break out into its own thread. Each day or so I'll refresh your heads with the oddest, strangest and downright interesting facts and tidbits of knowledge.
Now, please feel free to contribute - there is one rule, however: the fact must be true, AS FAR AS YOU KNOW. Quoting a source is preferable, but certainly not necessary. Get them from Google by all means, but try to verify your contributions rather than just posting the factually incorrect "polar bears are left handed" etc. The funnier, weirder the better (like all of us here).
Now, please settle into GrandOldTeam's very own (but way better) version of QI......
Mozart wrote a canon entitled “Leck mich im Arsch,” which translates as “Lick me in the arse.”
Male elephants sometimes use their penis as a 5th limb.
One species of jellyfish, Turritopsis nutricula, may be immortal.
If humans could extend life indefinitely, free of disease or ageing, we'd still die from an accident at an average age of 1200.
