Guardiola to be found out in the premier league

He sticks to his guns and fair play to him for that. He has a terrible record against Klopp though. The press kills his teams ability to play out from the back, then they got cut to ribbons with the speed of the attack. The one time he did beat Klopp (5-0 earlier this season) the RS were all over them prior to Mane getting sent off, the press couldn't then be effectively implemented with one man less so City were afforded plenty of space, and at home against that defence it was always going to end in a hiding.

So there is a flaw in Pep's style. If he had to face a Klopp side every week he wouldn't be winning anything. The issue then is can other teams emulate what Klopp's can? Surely the other top five can. Mourinho would need to change his negative, pragmatic style though as it just doesn't work against Pep (bar that one time with Inter when he nicked the result). Don't give City space to play out from the back, and hurt them when you get the ball.
A bit of a simplistic argument. In the head to head between them Klopp has the edge by one game. Pep has won his share of games against Klopp too, including in a cup final. So he has won something playing against a Klopp team.

I thought I remembered him having 2 of those 3. I couldn't quite remember if it was Iniesta or Pedro.

According to wikipedia he managed Barca B in the 3rd division in 07 and managed them for one season before being promoted to the first team.

Did he manage another team in the 4th division?

That’s an inaccuracy, Barça B were in the 4th division under Pep before getting them promoted, careful with translating, Segunda - Tercera is indeed 4th division

Iniesta had been with the senior first team since Rijkaard

Interesting that Guardiola said that they 'lost control' against Bristol City last night after going 2-0 up. After they went 2 nil down Bristol pressed City high up the pitch, as lfc had, and City lost momentum - the ball out from the back - and became flustered as they did against lfc. Probably the lesson is, press city high up the pitch including the midfield out ball and force them to go long. Will all managers be 'brave' enough to do this? Probably not. When we beat City 4-0 we got at them high up the pitch and in the middle of the park. It will be interesting to see if Allardyce does the high pressing game when city come to Goodison.

The 3 areas apart from injuries etc. that pose issues for City are sides that (1) are well organized, sit deep & close down relentlessly or those like (2) Klopp who press high intensely & flood the midfield (Like Bristol did briefly) & (3) their lack of central penetration when there are two banks of 4.

And it's true, it takes the right personnel, discipline and bravery to be effective with point 2. I also think with the imminent addition of Laporte, the 3-4-3 will give City the ability to stretch the back line of the defense and force them to make split second decisions on which runner to track as the midfielders, forwards etc will be changing positions constantly while maintaining great width because the fullbacks will really look like wingers allowing the wide forwards to come inside which Raheem & Leroy can do very well

Bear in mind it won't be one set formation but it will change into many over 90 minutes
