As we've got more than a few American Evertonian's on here, Happy Thanksgiving to you guys...

Couldn't handle another full week of eating not much other than turkey, so happy to wait another month for Xmas, but we know how you guys love a good munch (only kidding) - enjoy!...
 

I prepared a massive meal:

Spice Brined Turkey
Creamy mashed spuds
Sautéd, seasoned green beans
Roasted carrots and parsnips
All covered with gravy

And followed up with a lovely Dutch Apple Pie with lots of whipped cream.

And I am still recovering!

I've often wondered that too, i mistakingly thought it was their celebration of Christmas eve !

Quite surprised that it hasn't taken off over here too.

" In the United States, the fourth Thursday in November is called Thanksgiving Day. On this day, Americans give thanks for the good things they have had in the past year."

Oh right. Learn something new everyday Vim. I thought it was nearer to Christmas too. Dont think it will be long before it catches on over here and people knock on your door for turkey legs and stuffing. If youve got none they egg your house bit like trick or treat that got badly misinterpreted when that arrived.
 
I thought it had historical significance, in that the native indians provided the settlers with some food when they were starving.

(give and inch take a mile comes to mind)

Give thanks to who?

In Friends they would all just have a big party and eat loads and make trifle with beef.

So that must be what all Americans do.
