Nice to hear we Dutch might have a successor to Edwin van der Sar. Haven't seen much of him, but it sounds like he's a great prospect. Wouldn't mind another goalkeeper, but I'm satisfied with having Tim Howard in goal, as I like him a lot.

I think hes top notch mate would be made up we signed him, saw him play in the CL when he was about 17 and few more times over the years - best young goalkeeper ive seen in a long long time, since Shay Given really - sort it out Davey!

Paul Gerrard was an ace young keeper, as was Steve Simonsen as was Richard Wright.

Stop being silly you baddest of all melts. Theres plenty more positions that need upgrading before our keeper who keeps us in plenty of games.

How classy is Louis Saha though?

I remember when we first got him, many people had a negative attitude, but strictly speaking, we have one of the finest strikers in the Prem at the moment, and it cost us very little.
Considering how bad we are playing, imagine how many he would score if we had our best midfield available.

Krul is a top keeper I agree, but I do not think he could replace Howard. As a back up he will be superb though. He was 3rd choice at the Toon when Given was there. Has to also be added that when he did play he was superb. Went out on loan to Falkirk and Carlisle and has since returned to Newcastle where he is back up to Harper.

Id like to think Howards replacement, that some people want, would be a first team regular from another premiership team and a regular international. Someone tested at the top level. But, yes, Id love to see Krul at Goodison as I could see him stepping into Tims boots when he moves on.

Saha would probably have bagged 8 goals by now and be top prem scorer. tell me i am wrong???:)

Superb piece of business.

It would help if we had our first choice midfield available but I think mostly his success will also depend on having someone alongside him, namely Yakubu.

That potential midfield and forward partnership has got the lot THE LOT.

Shame Saha wasnt two or three years younger but then we probably wouldnt have got him like we did.
