Hi Y'all
I was a member here years ago when the site first opened but god i dont remember my user name and password. In any case i didnt post but always enjoy the articles and forum banter so thought i'd join again and say hi.
My first game was Everton V Bristol City (think it was city and not rovers) back in i think 1970 with my dad in the main stand when i was 3 years old. Been going all my life to watch the mighty blues and was lucky enough to be there at the Bayern game at home and travelled to Rotterdam also when i was a naughty teenager, very rarely missed a game and went to 50% of away games.
Then got married etc etc etc but never missed the blues at home at all. Then my son came along and both he and i have been STH's since he was 3 back in 1994............ in later years often coming home with a little face looking at me asking " why do we support everton dad"........ to which my reply as you all know was "because we were chosen son, we were lucky enough to be chosen"
My lad is now nearly 17 and we never miss a game still. I'm sad its not that working class ethos of a Saturday afternoon, lads down the ale house type of scenario anymore and that money has overtook what footie always stood for but hey, nothing better than standing at 5 to 3 in the afternoon hearing Z-Cars and still getting that "hair on the back of the neck standing up" feeling after nearly 40 years of watching the best team in the world
