I've been a regular visitor to the GOT forums over the last year or so, happy as a guest only. However, following the spectacular LOLocaust which was the "Mirallas signs/in talks" thread, I became convinced that I would rather register than face the occasional shut-out when the moderators prevent guest access. So here I am.
I'm based in East Sussex and work in Law, and for my sins I became an Everton fan as a result of watching a few games in 1984 - my uncle is a born and bred scouser and was more than happy to introduce me to what was a very succesful team. I grew up watching the mid-to-late 80's era when only Liverpool could provide any real opposition, so my earliest football memories are of a truly stellar lineup. Unsurpisingly my favourite player of all time is Neville Southall, although Kevin Sheedy and psycho Pat Van Den Hauwe aren't far behind!
Current favourite player is a tough choice... some of the current squad clearly have a passion for the club that elevates them: Howard, Hibbert, Jagielka, Neville, Osman all fit in that category. I think Pienaar and Heitinga may finally have grasped it too, and Gibson is showing all the right signs. Others are genuinely elite performers, such as Baines, Felli and possibly Jelavic (time will tell). For me, I think Distin shades them all because of his model professionalism, consistent high levels of performance and the absolute lashing he regularly gives the Kopites on twitter.
And pineapple on pizza is perfectly acceptable, provided it's combined with a decent chorizo.
