Hello to all, after almost a year of being a member, I guess it’s time to say hello!
When getting into football at the tender age of 5-6 (mid 80‘s), I had nobody to influence me on who to support, so followed the crowd and supported Everton! As an Evertonian in the Midlands, I guess that makes me a glory hunter!!!
Still, when success deserted Everton, so did many of my friends. But I stayed loyal. As a teenager, I joined a midlands based supporters club and traveled up maybe 7-8 games per season (when ever I could afford to). My first game was in the league at home to Man U. We lost 1-0. Lee Sharpe scored a volley from just outside the area and went and did one of his gay shuffles! I sat in the Lower Bullens and it cost me just £4!! Happy Days!! Big Nev was and still is my all time greatest player!
To be honest, I've not been to Goodison for a few years now due to work, distance, costs etc although I've seen plenty of away games in the Midlands. More often than not, I now spend most of my Saturdays supporting my local non league side. I now put them first but still consider myself an Evertonian! Is that allowed!!?
P.S. This forum is brilliant!
