Wahei, I spent a couple months in Perth. Mostly in Coobellup but spent a lot of time in Northbridge too. Have mostly good memories there (except there is absolutely no nightlife there..or was none).Born in Cheshire living in Perth, need 5 posts so I can view the current affairs forum

Northbridge is a lost cause, the restrictive liquor licensing and urban sprawl killed it circa mid 2000's. There's a pretty solid underground scene but its all promoted online and at unlicensed venues so you have to know where to look.
Gotcha. About 2008-2009ish. I liked it there but was living with a family friend who's wife hated me so it turned me off to the area. It was a weird city. Literally sat down in the middle of a road for about 10 minutes at midnight one Saturday night and never had to move because not a car was on the roads.
