Born on the Wirral, with blue blood in my veins. I must have been about 6 or 7 years old at the time, but I will always remember this bully asking me, "Who do you support, Liverpool, Everton or that other lot?" I said Everton. It was the wrong answer for him, he was a red, of course. But I didn't care. Everton was my team and that was that. I have watched the blues since the late '60's. Season ticket holder in various parts of the main stand from the 80's on. Experienced many highs and many lows. The highest high being kissing the League Championship trophy and shaking hands with the great Howard Kendal at the celebration dinner:celebrate:. The lowest low being subject to the utter torture that was the Mike (the Silver Fox) Walker season:confused:. Left England towards the end of that 1994-95 season, just after a certain Mr Royal took charge and rescued the team from the drop! Missed a couple of cup finals since then, but not much else in the league. Now I am just an armchair fan, but at least get to see every game via the wonders of technology.

I have no one favourite player, as this is a team sport! The best team would be any eleven that included the "Holy Trinity". These were my boyhood heroes. I do not see any such heroes now in the game, they appear as just overpaid mercenaries to me now. But then, it was probably always that way, and the hero only exists in the child's eye, (why did you have to leave, Bally???:()

As for the all important pizza question. I will eat pizza only if there is a letter "Y" in the day, and add the pineapple only if there is an "R" in the month.

No guns. No Texas accent, y'all. Lots of rain this month. Lots of sun and heat to follow. Lots of anticipation for the new season. No doubt, lots to cheer and moan about in the future. Happy to have a place to share it with my blue friends back in the old country!
