Where about are you from?: I am an expat Brit living in California.
How did you become an Evertonian?: Both my Granddad and Uncle were Everton season ticket holders, unfortunately my Dad never got the bug but thankfully he did take me to see the parade after we won the FA cup in 1984 and at that point I was chosen even if I didn’t really know it yet. Everton was my school girl crush but tbh it probably had more to do with how good Gary Lineker’s legs looked in those 80’s shorts than our performance on the pitch.
Real life issues such as career and marriage moved my focus off Everton but I remotely followed how we were doing – I vividly remember refreshing Ceefax to see if we were going to survive relegation in 1994. Moved to California and lost touch with football but World Cups and Euros got me interested again in the sport. My uncle sadly lost his wife a year ago and searching for a neutral topic to talk with him about Everton came up and so I started watching our games and got hooked again.
Your all-time favourite Everton player?: Gary Lineker for his legs and England performances. Peter Reid for his tackles and general bossness.
Your current favourite player?: It’s like choosing your fav family member – love them all, warts and all. If forced to choose would be Oviedo for his attitude. He had me in tears with his post-derby “head-up” & “Proud to be a Blue” tweets when he was still in hospital after suffering broken leg.
Pineapple on Pizza, Is it socially acceptable? What are your views?: LOVE pineapple on pizza but also love beans on toast. If we were all the same life would be boring!
