Player Valuation: Free Transfer
LOUIS SAHA has ended uncertainty over his future and handed Everton a boost ahead of the Merseyside derby by agreeing a new two-year contract.
The France striker’s career has been revitalised since arriving at Goodison Park 18 months ago and he faces Liverpool tomorrow having scored 13 goals this season.
Saha’s current deal was due to run out at the end of the season and his ‘‘free’’ status had attracted interest from the likes of Bordeaux, Besiktas and Roma.
Everton had moved quickly to head off interest and, despite negotiations becoming prolonged after Saha’s agents asked for £60,000-a-week, an agreement has been reached.
