I've been on Nil Satis, Blue Kipper and Toffeeweb for years but only recently discovered Grand Old Team

Lifelong Blue; first match was v West Ham in 1958 so have seen both ups and downs.

Initially I welcomed Martinez but there were a few warning signs last season, particularly the Anfield embarrassment. Then, just when we needed to kick on, for 4th place, the season tailed off.

Pre season was a total shambles and even though we played inferior opposition we shipped loads of goals and failed to win a single game, even managing to lose to Leicester and Tranmere.

The season started in a similar vein losing leads to both Leicester and Arsenal and then being taken apart by Chelsea. Unfortunately, it hasn't got any better. Martinez appears incapable of setting a team up to hold a game and, with the best squad we've had for years, he's turned us into the new Wigan.

He needs to go, and go soon, and Joe Royle should be asked to see us through to the end of the season.

Welcome mate.
Cracking intro, especially the bit about your first match.

Welcome to GOT. Post often and don't let these youngsters put you off :)

Thanks for the welcome guys (and gal).
Although I've been around the block a few times I'm very fortunate in still being fit enough to get to all the homes and quite a few of the aways (including Lille, Wolfsburg and Young Boys).
This manager has alarming similarities to Mike Walker who got the Everton job on the back of one good season with Norwich. Both revealed themselves to be clueless when things started to go wrong.

Gluten morgen, don't be bullied by the whippersnappers.
