With the ink now dry on Tony Hibbert's new five year contract, the defender has set his sights on securing his first piece of silverware as a senior Everton player.
Hibbert was a 14-year-old trainee the last time the Toffees lifted a major trophy.
Having devoted his career to the boys in blue, Hibbert has confidence in finally ending his wait for a trophy with Everton during the lifetime of his new contract.
And with a Carling Cup semi-final to contend with at Goodison on Wednesday, silverware is at the forefront of the defender's mind.
"I’m made up with the point that I’m here for another five years and I’m very happy to be playing my football here," Hibbert exclusively told evertonTV after signing his new deal.
"The Club has made a big, big step since I’ve been here and it’s good to see that the Club is going in the right direction. Every day it’s picking up and the lads are great here, so I don’t see why we won’t have a trophy at the end of it.
"I hope there is a trophy coming up and some medals, and I don’t see why we can’t win one."
Hibbert and Leon Osman are both successful products of the academy, with midfielder Osman signing a similar new deal at the same time as Hibbert.
"It’s good to sign at the same time as Leon," continued Hibbo. "We’ve grown up together and have been playing for Everton for many years, and it’s good to see that we’re still wanted at the club and it’s a good thing that it’s for five years.
"It’s a squad game nowadays, and with the number of games that are coming up, you need a big squad.
"For me, I want to be here, I don’t think about going anywhere else. I’ve been made up to sign and to still be here."
