My name is Simon. I'm 44 years young and I am technically from Birkenhead, born in Clatterbridge...raised in New Brighton, living in the Costa Del Seacombé. I was a web developer, UI designer, social media bod. I am now retired due to illness and health issues. I once had an interview at Rippleffect, who did the Everton website. I didn't get it because I didn't have a degree lol.
I like Everton (obvs), heavy metal, cats, playing guitar, making music, true crime, serial killer documentaries, space and horror movies. Feels like Tinder a bit now lol.
I'm very proud of my Slavic and Welsh heritage. I follow Wales because I cant take England being shocking. After they got beat by Iceland I gave up.
I found these forums by following you guys on social media, but found the forum when searching for Everton - The Official History dvd cover for Plex.
I became an Evertonian because my Dad tried to make me a Liverpool fan. He left when I was 4. I chose Everton when I was 6. My Mum's side of the family are blues. My Uncle took me to the games in the early 90s. Even at 6 I knew it would piss him off...and it did.
I contracted covid on the 22nd Feb 2022, only I could get it exactly then! I nearly died. I lost over 3 stone in 2 weeks. I'm on the mend now, 80% match fit...so probably fitter than DCL lol. I was a big Everton fan before covid, now I am 110% blue. I could only really cope with watching Everton fan YouTube channels. So I just immersed myself in everything Everton. Once I could get out of bed and walk, I took everything red I owned and gave it all to the local Barnardos. Getting an Everton tattoo on the 5th of April!
Also the whole "we do not choose we are chosen" is a load of bollocks. So is not being a "real" fan if you aren't from or living in L5! A fan is a fan is a fan.
Fav all time Everton player is Andrei Kanchelskis...and Dixie Dean (he's also from Birkenhead). Also have a fondness for Kevin Sheedy.
My current favourite player Anthony Gordon...as the rest are pretty woeful. Keane is the worst defender we've ever had!
