Obviously they would look better in a frame!

Lets get technical

What colour combinations did you use for those fantastic skies, basic wash ect.

Is that harbour scene copied of a picture in a book, I seem to recognise the back ground and surrounds but the sky is magical in yours mate.

What combinations did you use for sea wall grey and the perfect water line?

The landscape, is that mainly a combimation of hookers green (chico shut your mouth) and burnt sienna?

Finally is your middle name Leonardo:p :p :p They are truly superb Latch, makes my efforts seem even worse. I've just finished two w/c's of Urquat Castle., Loch Ness, one from the roadside and another from the air, great thing to practice on but I cannot get a good grey mix to save my life, might get a tube of planters grey or do you have a better mix.

latch, they are superb! as mick said was it from a photo or your imigination? i'm really wondering what the two old boys are talking about!

my main hobby is chess. i'm also a petrol head and attend race meets here in korea. we get a gp in 2 years!!

Three more for you to see, one painting and two pencil drawings.

The painting below, is from a magazine, my mother took a fancy to a photo and asked me to paint a copy for her, how could I refuse!

This pencil drawing is from an old book about Pwllheli, I copied a black and white photo of the town taken about 1900, the spot where the ship is, is now my living room!

Again from the same book, my pencil drawing is of an old signal box from the 60's, if I remember rightly it was demolished in the late 70's

Thanks for the compliment Monty,
The sky was painted in various colours mate, cobalt, ultramarine, ochre, crimson, and orange, on their own or various combinations.
The harbour scene was from a book, just thought it would make a nice painting.
Sea wall ~ again various colours, but with white acrylic added in thin washes.
Landscape ~ Your right Hookers green and sienna were used along with a few others.
As for mixing grey, well in traditional wc, when no white is used, various shades of grey can be achieved by combinations of blue,( ultramarine/prussian/cobalt ) crimson, sienna, ( raw & umber ) ochre and green, trial and error mate! having said that there's nothing wrong ( remember no set rules in painting ) in adding a small amount of White acrylic to the mix, although of course you loose the transparency that is unique to watercolour.
