I wish he was mate. No need playing that bloody World Cup if that was the case. Just hand over that trophy to us Dutchies.:lol::lol:

Well you already know my views on this. (not the ones posted above) He's the one bad link in a very good side. He's also the captain i think? Which makes him tough to drop.

Two countries which revolutionized football. The great Hungarian team of the 50s which looked to have found a successor in the 60s with Florian Albert and co. Never happened and as they declined we saw the rise of Dutch football. The ironic parallel of the two great teams losing the 54 and 74 finals to West Germany. If either of the two had played the respective German teams of the time a 100 times they'd have won 99. Had to lose the final though. They are living proof that people don't just remember the champions. If the football is good enough, the teams will be remembered. I don't think there is any doubt in anyone's mind who was the best team in the world in 1954 or 1974

You can't imagine what impact that loss had on the Dutch mental state. Older generations still experience nightmares about this match. Sometimes I really wonder what made the hate against Germans more extense. WWII or that WC final in 1974.

Her first assist, who knew she was even Dutch? I knew it was a guy like.
