Horse Racing

....Listowel this week, i’ve been drunk and enjoyed my racing trips there on many occasions. I always think the Kerry National is the start of the jumps racing season, which is always good.

I’ll be in Spain on Wednesday but have had a little interest in Gwencily Berbas @ 35-1. Unfortunately, it might not get in the race but I was impressed with it in Hunter Chases last season and prepared to lose a few quid at that price if it doesn’t run.

....Gwencily Berbas balloted out of the Kerry National but I got my money back, doubt i’ll have a bet as i’ll abroad but i’ll look at the result with interest.

Saudi set to take the mantle of the world's richest horse race:

$20m purse over 9 furlongs.. surely it might tempt Prince Kallid to reconsider Enable's scheduled retirement...?

prize money in this country is insulting by comparison.. what's the richest purse at Royal Ascot? £1m?

....always like to throw an early dart at the weekends big handicap and have managed to find a couple of winners in recent weekends.

3yo have a poor record in the Ayr Gold Cup but i’ve had a small interest in Barbill @ 40-1. It won’t find its way into my Lucky15, but if it runs it does look overpriced, especially when the enhanced place offers come out.

when does this run eggy ??

Big race tomorrow, the Cambridgeshire, 32 runners no less

3 year olds don’t win it
Any horse carrying more than 9-5 won’t win it
13 of the last 17 winners were aged between 4-6
12 of the last 17 had finished 5th or better last time out

Bedouin’s Story 14/1 for me. His trainer had a double as well today so stable is bang in form.

I was at Haydock earlier today and it was the jockeys who probably had the major say in how treacherous the going was, particularly down the middle where a Stewards Enquiry was called after the four horse third race. This was the first race of the day where the horses stayed down the centre as opposed to taking the rail as they did in the first two races. It was bottomless going today and the meeting was ultimately abandoned due to the ground being waterlogged in parts.

There is an inspection at 7am for tomorrow, but based on the saturated state of the track and the jockeys concerns after that third race, with the further rain on top of that standing water it’ll be a miracle job by the ground staff to have racing there tomorrow.

The 3pm race at Newmarket tomorrow is sexual. All aboard the Siskin train but that French favourite is supposed to be a beast. The Hannon horse must be good aswell as they turned a 3 mill bid down for it haha. Mental. Can’t wait.
