Horse Racing

...yes, I did. Great to see those old timers still enjoying the game. There is talk of having a veterans chase included in the Cheltenham Festival schedule and I think it’s a good idea.

I'm surprised they don't already. It just shows they love what they do, performing like that at that age.

It's a shame there's so much money in the flat racing regarding stud fees. You don't get to see a top class horse in training past 4yrs now a days.

...Enable is a 5 year old, and another 5 year old won last weeks Arc, but I know what you mean. There’s so much money in breeding for the top flat horses.

Absolute standard.

The one and only horse I've punted all year for next year's festival.

...saw this early this morning, seems to be something to do with over subscription. I backed Kemboy for next years Gold Cup after it won at Aintree in April, I think he’s just about my favourite horse in racing. Given good health, I’d be amazed if he’s not lining up in March.

Off to Aintree today. @Eggs grateful for any help on picking horses. Frodon has won money for me in the past, including this meeting last year, however it's up against kalashnikov today...

...coincidentally, just had a little look. Can’t remember an Aintree jumps meeting where Peter Bowen didn’t have a runner. I hoped to have an interest in the Old Roan Chase, but I like a nice priced one. As you indicate, it’s an open race. Aintree drains well, but i’d be looking for horses who like a bit of cut, I notice Bryan Hughes is riding there today, he’s normally worth a 2nd look when riding for McCain.

If I hear anything i’ll pass it on.

...McCain with a 40-1 winner at Aintree. Him and Peter Bowen always worth following blindly. Lovely weather, hope you had a great day.
