How corrupt is football?

It used to be laughed off as tin foil hat stuff but corruption has been proven at the very highest level of the game (only when it pissed on the shoes of America's government...)

Corruption has been proven at some of the world's biggest clubs in Serie A.

We have pundits such as Le Tissier admitting his part in match fixing - but broadcasters don't care.

It's not tin foil hat stuff to think corruption exists in a multi billion pound industry.

But just how corrupt is the game?

Always been corrupt, it's just previously it was the odd bung and a fiddle of the figures by small businessmen and the players and now it's huge corporations and their dodgy dealings doing on a huge scale

Five years ago, I'd have said there was some corruption but it was localised or subconscious. Now, I think the sport is rife with it.

It's all about money and maintaining the status-quo (sorry, gravy train) for the elite clubs and those who are there to profit from it.

It obviously is, with so much money on the line there's always corruption no matter what line of work you're in. The ones that would argue otherwise you'll find are the ones that benefit most.
