Doubtless my cretinous brain is to blame but when I click on "insert image" symbol the box comes up giving the options of:

1. selecting a suitable file from your pc

2. pasting a url.

and neither works for me!

The first option tested with a jpg file (pic of ball, kendal, harvey) saw me using the "select files" facility which allowed browsing of pics on the hard disc, I highlighted said file then used "open" with the resultant file loading quite clearly into the "insert image" box.

Pressing "upload" gives a red exclamation mark against the file after clearly trying to upload.

The second option I copied and pasted a url and all it did was print the url in the body of the post!

Any help gratefully received I have no idea what I'm doing wrong and I note one or two others confess to struggling with this. (y)

Selecting from your PC doesn't work at all mate, so skip trying that, always click the option 'From URL' and untick the box that says something about retrieving from local something or other. That should work.

If not then paste the link into the normal message box and at either end of the link put

I don't usually have any problems when I copy and paste from the pictures 'properties' tab. Sometimes, I have the same problem you are having but find if I de-select the 'select files' box, it works fine. Hope that makes sense.

You forgot the slash in the second img.

So its basically [img]www.theaddressofthephotoyou'retryingtopost

i tend to just right click on the image 'copy image' then paste it directly in.

The odd time it doesnt work so I right click it 'copy image url' and paste it in the box for putting pics in.

works with vids sometimes as well copy/paste
