Where to start.
It is better, but also worse.
Colour TV is better than black and white. Knocking about in woods and building dens must have been more fun than going shopping and playing computer games as well I guess.
And being able to tinker with a car as a teenager is something kids cant do anymore.
Reverse charging your parents from a phone box was probably not as good as sending a text to get picked up as well.

A lad that was an apprentice with us decided to go the airport and take his mar away for her birthday for a week, they went to Ringway and he ended up going to Ibiza and she went somewhere else !! she came back having found a new fella so had obviously had a better week than him.
Bloke ended up moving in and he couldn't stand him so had to move out.

Well if you are a Mail reader, the reason is Health and Safety have knocked climbing trees on the head and all the paedohiles have snatched the kids playing footie on the street or they have been radicalized by some preacher in the local mosque.
An old school friend of mine is a PhD in Neuropsychology who is pretty high in education circles and all that jazz.
He regularly tells me that a huge change in child development is causing Western society to sleepwalk into real social issues within the future.
And this isn't just social skills like interaction between individuals because of their reliance on devices such as phones and texting.
Rather, it's real physical issues with gross and fine motor skills that aren't developing because children are being stuck in front of iPads etc.
He waffles on about the inability to focus their eyes correctly, maintaining natural postures etc. or writing straight without paper being slanted.
All because they aren't utilising them during key stages in their development. May all be waffle, but he says it's pandemic in many schools.
Oh and I remember when I was a kid, everyone use to have a drink and drive. My ol' man would take us the pub and have nine pints then drive.
