Definitely should be considering getting Fraser Forster or Jack Butland in and selling Howard, decent shot stopper but can't trust him when the ball is thrown into the area

He was fantastic today. That's business as usual as he raises his game for the US. But hopefully it's a sign his form is better and he'll carry that back home.

He made several high quality commanding saves today - one back to back, and another kick save that basically saved the game for the US.

He didn't have to face many crosses really (his weakness) - which plays to his game.

The bits in bold - what does that mean? I've never heard those terms before.

To be fair here though lads and Kay, his fans often think he has good games for Everton when he has howlers.

Not that i saw the game or anything like so excuse the cynicism, it was a 2-2 draw though!

Some good goals by the US, first one for me he could have done better, but woeful defending, but then thats when you want your keeper to step up, he looked like he gave up on it when the Russian player went through 1V1:

IMO going for a player like Forster on the back of his Barca performances would be a huge mistake. All goalies look good when they are firefighting and being bombarded. Howard looks good in those types of situations too.

We need a communicator, a big personality and someone who completely controls thier area. In the long run this will save you a lot more points over a shot stopper. Shot stopping is second nature to most keepers these days. Not all have got the personality to do the other stuff well.

I tend to agree mate, but was thinking more in terms of finances.

Maybe it's just me, but I don't think too many American Evertonians would argue that Howard doesn't need competition. His form has certainly dipped.

I just think Howard is better at his position, currently, than Neville is in CM and so money should go there first.

That said, I'd love to see somebody like Stephan Anderson (Evian, League 1) brought in as competition until fresh blood can be brought in.
