Howards Way

Was a decent watch but could’ve been so much more. Agreed above needed some more of the man himself in it and more about the 87 title winners too. Also could’ve done with less of that LCAB fella and his Mum, nothing against them personally but didn’t add anything to it whatsoever and found it bordering on self indulgent.

It's a good enough film but it does give the impression of all of that team being a load of drunks, which, considering Howards end, I wasn't a fan of

But, i do like that out 80s side is getting recognition

I know what you mean, but that was a very different age and every team was like that.
I watched it yesterday for about the third or fourth time, but the first time for the current Mrs Alwaysblue. She was super excited to watch it!!!! For me it just shows the togetherness of the whole team. I was a bit too young to appreciate that time and I still get emotional about it. There is also a good nudge on the political landscape at that time. It's a great film IMO and I can't wait to show it to my girls when they're old enough to know what Everton is!

Mate that was the culture then and we were no different to any other side in regards to drink, but it enhanced our amazing team spirit, as for Howard well that's what made him happy. Lighten up a bit mate it's the New Year.

It was the norm then. Loosen up with the drinks, say what you thought and get it out of your system and have a laugh. Brought them closer together and weeded out the soft touches or toughened up the soft touches. It brought a togetherness and made them play not for themselves but as part of a team.

Great film, I’m too young to know much about that era but my word it must have been one hell of a party at the time.

The drinking culture still remained until the late 90s, the likes of Wenger’s revolutionary ways of players diets, Ferguson never had time for it either. Ray Parlour touches on the ‘Wednesday Club’ on talk sport often, Wenger used to send the coaches to go and check up on them.

I just watched it again, and I still howl with laughter at Peter Reid's comment during the bit about some of the players sartorial elegance, when he said "The leccy must have been off in Nev's house when he was getting dressed"!
