I'm a recent Evertonian from the Southern US. I've been trolling here periodically ( linked here from Toffeeweb ) and may stay for a chat.
I played soccer (or whatever it is the rest of the world calls it) as a youth and now that I'm coaching my children, I needed a serious team to follow from a serious league (for myself and for them). I'm loyal to my local US teams (Saints, Rangers, Stars, Mavericks, FCD) and felt the freedom to choose an English team with the right character. Everton were a resounding yes. I suppose what finally hooked me was reading the apocryphal story (or is it true?) of the supporter wearing an Everton kit at an away game, filling in for a missing player, who scored on a header from Alex Young.
I don't yet have any favorite Evertonians, although some are growing on me. I suppose if I had to choose one then the easy(?) choice would be Landon Donovan.
I'm a devout supporter of Tony Kornheiser, and generally like all things old, bald, orange, fat, and grumpy.
