Hello All,

New to the EPL, not to Football. From Fort Worth, Texas (near Dallas), and have been playing since 1980. But no teams to watch growing up, so we just played. Yes Dallas has a team now but for me anything Dallas is like Everton fans hating Liverpool or Manchester.

This year, after finally getting excited about having a descent national team, I had to find "My Team". So I went with my gut, my personality, and in the area of my ancestral family's origin Ol' Lancashire (close to Bolton). So Everton it was! Not a just cause Timmy is there, but a team that seems to have principle, great fans (or more than most), and I love those royal blue home jerseys. And I hate New York Yankee type teams aka manu, mancity, and the snobs that seem to be liverpool. I am sure if there was a football team before 1816, my family would have been Toffees.(y) Ok maybe a few Bolton fans too but...:blink:

That much anger towards FCD from Ft Worth? My folks lived in Grapevine and Grand Prairie both, never noticed the resentment. Granted, I hate the Cowboys (Saints fan), but still surprised.

Welcome aboard, anyway. There's a North Texas Toffees group, but you may have to go to Dallas to meet some.

And do yourself a favor and catch a Houston match before you have anything to do with FC Dallas.
 

SerenityNigh... Most of my dislike is towards the Cowboys/Jerry Jones. Probably doesn't help that my family moved down from St. Louis, and my father hated the Cowboys to begin with. Nothing really against FCD, just never have grown any attachment to them. And I am still holding out for Ft. Worth to get a team ;) And thanks for the heads up on the group! Going out to watch the game with them tomorrow!

Bill...I actually have been meaning to catch a FCD or Houston game. I use to live in College Station, and we be back there next month.

Everything else you said was gravy. North TX Toffees meet at The Londoner? Have a good time!

BTW, Ft Worth is better than Dallas, but having lived in the mid-cities I called all of it Dallas.

*Also, the original The Flying Saucer is in Ft Worth. I'll stop now.
