Hughes' replacement?

Nebbiolo

Valuation: £108 million
My prediction is that he'll be gone within days. I really can't see the City owners giving a marked man millions to spend in the transfer window. City will have problems attracting a big name despite their wealth, as has has been seen with the amount of players that turn the club down. I'm sure the board is pissed off that Sven was shown the door to be honest. I have to admit I'm struggling to come up with a name. If Moyes hadn't signed on the dotted line, I believe he would have been approached for a chat, although not necessarily given the job.

So assuming that I'm correct, which man would take on the City challenge?

He's been given the "vote of confidence" this morning, which on Footy Manager almost always ends up in the sack soon after. Well it does for me anyway .

Gus Hiddink is my shout

A good shout and realistic, mate.

The "vote of confidence" is always prior to getting the bullet. You don't have to give a vote of confidence if there isn't a problem. There clearly is one at City. It could be the players acting up, rather than Hughes' abilities.

Hiddink's a good call but Abramovich pays his wages for the Russian FA, so that could be a massive stumbling block in agreeing to sever his contract.

Rijkaard's unemployed at the moment and has a semi-proven record of managing big names and could jump at the chance to prove himself in England, same applies for Schuster and Mancini - All 3 are 'big' names which would help in signing new players given their league position.

Avram Grant has a proven Prem record, but being Israeli, he won't get a look in from the Sheihk!...

Hiddink would be the best manager for the job. As he is one of the best. Other than him Mourinho is the other candidate - but i think that Mourinho would want to go to a higher prestige club.

The problem at City is that the club has no prestige. It'll take some time for them to appear as an attractive option. Basically, throwing money at people is all they can do at the moment.
