This thread heading refers to an interesting article from the Guardian on the link below.

It has never been fully revealed as to the racist remarks Emre made last season, this article states what was said to Joelon and both Tims, it also goes on to attack NUFC as being racist, which they are:(

Based on the reactions of our players, I have zero doubt that Emre was guilty on this. As this article points out, it's always easier to pay lip service to this type of issues than to actually stand up and make the tough choice - hence don't hold your breath for the FA to do the right thing.

And as far as the chants directed at Mido are concerned, you could actually hear them on TV and there is no reason for not penalizing the barcodes for their fans' behaviour - but again that would require the FA having convictions and the courage of those convictions.

It is a sad state of affairs. There seems to be a strange sort of mollycoddling where spectators are concerned. They can abuse players all match long, well within ear shot of stewards who roundly ignore them, and perhaps more sadly well within ear shot of children in the stands, yet a player offers a timid rebuke and fans act like scolded rabbits 'how dare they have a go at me'.

If somebody is caught being racist in the Navy, you get hit with the metaphorical bag of bricks.

The FA need to grab hold of their sac and do something about this crap. It is completely unacceptable.

How the hell did Emre get off on that technicality. Howard was twelve plus yards away from the incident, croud going and he still caught all he needed to hear.

And I think the difference is only a translated one, emre did probably say negro which lescott heard and howard simply translated negro in to its more english term of [Poor language removed].

to openly admit that a guy said one of these statements and that this is a defence of him is the law gone mad.
common sense has left the building.

I love lescott, yobo and howard, they are the cornerstone of our team, and to have them abused makes me feel sick, the FA are nothing but muppets for the money men.

I long for the day when the world would rather watch italian, spanish and german football instead of ours, remember with money comes power, and power corrupts and considering England has the number one league in terms of money (and therefore power) it corrupts absolutely.

I agree with all that is gone before in the thread but one thought did spring to mind regarding the Mido chant, which I certainly think is racist, could Newcastle claim that their suporters were being jingoistic as the feeling of the nation are anti-Islamic. If they do I bet the FA accept it!:o

im unsure on which foot to start with here... try this

in turkey it is legal to have sex with an animal so long as it is of a different sex to your own.

as for emre ''its the norm in turkey''.... get [Poor language removed].
