Hiya! Not going to waste time, let's get down to business.

Where about are you from?: I come from Hungary from a small town in the vicinity of Budapest called Szigetszentmiklós. Good luck pronouncing that, ha! The name is in fact a compound word of three particles: 'sziget', meaning island, 'szent', meaning saint, and 'Miklós', meaning Nicholas. So if we translated it literally it would mean this: Saint Nicholas' Island. The city is actually located on an island between the Danube and the Tisza, the two rivers that basically divide Hungary into three parts. But that's enough of the geography lesson.
How did you find these forums?: I googled 'Everton forum' and this was the first result.
How did you become an Evertonian?: Um, I have to think a bit hard on that one, there wasn't a clear moment when it became obvious to me. I think I was watching a few games in the Carsley/Gravesen/Yakubu etc. era and the team seemed likeable with its hard-working players. I found it attractive that a team could actually measure itself against the top clubs even though they didn't have the same means as those do. So essentially I regarded Everton as the underdogs and I started to root for them. Then there was a longer break when I wasn't really following English football much, but I returned to it a couple of years ago.
Your all-time favourite Everton player?: I don't know too many, so it has to be Baines.
Your current favourite player?: Leighton Baines.
Pineapple on Pizza, Is it socially acceptable? What are your views?: As long as you are ok with it, why not? It's not my favourite either, because I'm far too meat-oriented in my diet, but it's decent once in a while. :)

Just to give a clue about the pronunciation: see-get-scent-Mick-losh, the 'ó' in the final syllable a long o like in b-oar-d or c-hor-d, F-or-d, l-or-d etc.

And obviously everyone is welcome to pay a visit to the mighty town (which by the way, regardless of how small, was established in 1245 after the Mongolian invasion of Europe). There's not much to do here, but if you come in the winter you can skate on the frozen Danube.
Oh and the weather is generally a warmer here, my sister lives in Swindon and she tells me that the locals around are not used to high temperature, today it was almost 30 degrees here. :P She said when the temperature was 19 degrees there and they were driving to her workplace she was feeling a bit cold, but just about alright, but then her English friend immediately turned on the air conditioning. :D

Hi Mate. Why did your sister choose to live in about the most boring place in England??

:) Hi!

My brother-in-law is an engineer and soon after his graduation he received a job offer from the UK, but first from Gainsborough. I guess that was an even more boring place? :) My sister followed him there. Willingly. :) Anyway, they decided to move when he had the chance to work at Dyson, because that's a much better company than the other noname firm he worked at.

I've also been there a couple of times. It's true that not much is happening, but the people in their neighbourhood are nice and helpful. And since they've established themselves there now (child, acquaintances, promotion at company etc.), I don't think they are planning to move anytime soon. And I can't blame them, even though my mum cries a lot for not seeing her grandchild often, but I wouldn't hesitate either if I had the chance to have a good job in the UK or any western European country for that matter.

The reason is quite profane: you can earn three-four-five times as much in the UK compared to what you get here. The rate of people leaving Hungary (and generally Eastern Europe) is increasing, the big problem is that most of them are highly qualified intellectuals who would love to stay if the conditions weren't so different, but when you have so much better opportunities in another country, you really have to think hard which way to go. For instance, they had almost taken out a mortgage before they left for what would've taken like 20 years? And now, after having spent five years in England, they could buy a small flat in Budapest. So the financial difference is quite steep.
It's also a massive issue for the country, because there's free higher education here and what many do is that they go to university here and then start working abroad having previously "exploited" the Hungarian government.
