You'll enjoy it mate, Snowdonia National Park on your doorstep, white water rafting, a great fishing lake.
It's about an hour's drive to Pwllheli, if your up this way and fancy a pint let me know.

I've been quite a few times latch. Meant to be going white water rafting there soon. Hopefully will be there during the summer, comes to something when you have to move to Wales to work!

I love Snodonia National Park. I have spent many weeks camping and hiking those hills.

I also have a special affinity for the town of Beddgelert. On one of my many camping trips my step-dad told me the story of the faithful dog, Gelert, and his tragic story. Since then, whenever I am even vaguely near, I always stop by the town (and get ice-cream from that awesome ice-cream shop, which I hope is still open).

used to go to anglesey a fair bit, once upon a time trearrdur bay was so clean it was given a euro blue flag, oddly enough it was a red rag to a bull and junkies descended on that area and so the blue flag was removed.

there is a set of beaches near the air base, with a load of dunes inbetween the longest beach and the airstrip, is it rhosneigr? anyway, went there a few times (there is a splendid chippy in the town attached) and to get to parts of the beaches meant crossing a small ravine/stream that contained sea water from high tides, anyway last time we went the water wasnt clear, it had a rusty brown tint to it, so that was another place ruined - [Poor language removed] knows by what mind.

whats the other bridge over the menai straits called ... not the britannia bridge, the other one???

It's a small world Dylan, (it's regarded by many as the most picturesque village in Wales ) the story of how the place got it's name is told to nearly all schoolchildren in Wales.
Consider yourself an Honorary Welshman mate. ;) (y)
