He didn't say a gay child deserves less.
He just didn't partake in a flag waving exersize in support of the community. At the end of the day it's the rainbow equivalent of banging pans for the NHS: completely pointless. It's more of a "look how supportive I am" rather than actually supporting the target of the exersize.
He may very well be anti LGBTQ but don't assume he is because he refused a shirt/armband. At risk of being labeled a racist, Africa, particularly Muslim Sub-Saharan Africa is a weird place. You have no idea of the backlash he'd get from a large number of loons if he'd taken part.
By the way, if you do have a gay kid. Just be a good, loving and supportive parent.
