... do you want to go the footy next Saturday, what day is that to you?

The Saturday upcoming or the Saturday afterwards?

To me, "do you want to go the tranmere vs nottingham forest match next saturday" meant the saturday after this one. So I agreed, after all, we havent got a match next saturday.

Women ay, turns out she was on about this Saturday so now am going to be at f**king tranmere in the away end waiting on text messages with Everton updates.

:dodgy:

Next Saturday, to me, means the next one coming. For it to mean the following Saturday, I would say 'Wnat to go to the Everton match a week on Saturday'

"do you want to go the Everton match on Saturday" = The Saturday coming

"do you want to go the Everton match next Saturday" = The Saturday after the one coming.

I am a literal guy sometimes, and next Saturday to me means the next one that comes along. If you choose to read into it some other way, thats your problem

This is my thinking also to be honest. Next is the one after, err, well, the next. haha. Makes no sense in type, but crystal clear in speech. weird.

Of course if it was the Everton game I'd know if it was a Saturday/Sunday fixture this coming weekend and whether it was home or away. In this instance I would ask if they meant "at Birmingham" - and of course our remaining home games are not on Saturdays. I might have checked if it were another team.

this is defo a scouser thing, i have this all the time with my missus her family and my arl fella.
i say this one ....next meaning just that....like random !!

waaahahahahahaaaaa. I've done something similar myself.
Take a radio.

I would have said 'don't be so silly' whichever Saturday she meant.

Other annoying ones are people talking about what hours they are working and saying 'I'm working 9 while 5 on Saturday.'

That's just silly.

Oh Danny you have a lot to learn about woman I fear always check what they mean they live on a different planet.:lol:Danny out for desertion:lol::lol::lol:

Am I alone in thinking that both comments mean the same thing?

i.e.

"do you want to go the Everton match on Saturday" = The Saturday coming

"do you want to go the Everton match next Saturday" = The Saturday coming
