go back in time to give advice to your younger self, what advice would you give? Mine would be....

1. Its worth getting those braces young man
2. Yes, have more sex, you won't feel you've missed out later in life
3. Be grateful Everton chose you (I am anyway, thought I'd say it)
4. Take on a lot more challenges (I was more a home boy)

Anyone else?

Great thread idea.

My advice to me would be,

1. Don't worry too much about the mistakes you'll make, (except the two that really hurt people, those mistakes we can live without). The lessons learnt from those mistakes make you the person you are.

2. Look after your health & fitness better as you reach and pass 30.

3. Be quick to laugh at yourself, quicker to forgive others, life is too short to be mad at the people you really love.

4. Save as much money as you can, the future Mrs Whitebootman will always need more shoes. She is a stunner by the way.

i seem to be able to recall quite a few wrong options that i have taken :

not carrying on my education and going to uni as a mature student after my apprenticeship.... cambridge was an option for computer aided engineering, not so much due to my excellence but more that they had to fill the courses and apprentices finishing their time were the ideal people and possibly the only people available.

not jacking my apprenticeship in to become a draughtsman, i then got finished after the 4 years cos bae were closing the factory, if in drawing office wouldve got transfered and had job security plus also sponsorship through uni available.

i then got stuck with a trade i never wanted for a second.

the main one since then really is that i should never have left australia, i shouldve just stayed and stayed.

Don't smoke.

practise that guitar

learn a language now, it's harder every year that passes.

Put all the money you've got on Greece to win the 2004 European Nations cup

dont be afraid to do things you will only regret what you didnt try.

Listen to the voice of experience when your young and admit you don't/can't no it all at 16! (y)

Oh and don't go to the 1991 Zenith data systems final V's palace (a day of my life i'm never getting back) :(

I am my older self. Right now....

Seriously, I'd advise me to think less of what people think about me and just get on with what I'm good at. Only trouble is I'm still not sure what that is...arrrgghhh

don't be afraid of diving when you're in goal for the first time after you smash your elbow to pieces and convert to left mid, you were an awesome goalie and it wasn't only tranmere that was looking at you!!!

don't sell your iron maiden vinyl collection for £50 when u knew it was worth at least £500.

LEARN A TRADE, YOUR ONLY REAL CHANCE OF A MUSIC CAREER ENDS AT 24!!!!!!!

BUY PROPERTY

You'll struggle for a decade but when you hit 30, still have your looks and be wiser with tham, and that apartment you bought in the close to the city but dodgy part of town has now become a trendy part of town and has quadrupled in value. And you will struggle for a decade regardless, but at least this way you'll be a millionaire.

Oh, and pop some money on a little firm called Google. You never know...
